Safari here we come!!

Ok, so I can't get the text to not be underlined so I am just going to have to deal with it. Today we went with our dear friends Heath, Erin, Charyse and Trace on a trip to the Bayou Wildlife Park in Dickinson, TX. You ride in the back of a tram and feed exotic animals from buckets! We weren't sure how Cooper would like it but we ended up having a great time!! My only complaint...the heat but we live in Houston so what did I expect.

These are our friends Charyse and Trace...they are visiting from Alaska!
Cooper in his new backpacker ready for the adventure! Notice how he did not want to keep his head under the shade!

Heath vs. Ostrich

The camels were so friendly. One came and ate right out of Trace's lap and he LOVED it!!

Cooper loved when the animals would come in close!! He grinned so big!!!

Cooper & daddy looking out at the animals!

Cooper helping mommy feed the animals!!

Cooper after the ride!!

The deer could roam freely. One came and stood right next to us...so Cooper took advantage of this! He was thrilled!

The deer was hyperventilating. Cooper was laughing so hard at the deer!

It was a great trip! We all had alot of fun and enjoyed this special afternoon with our friends!! I think we will have to make a few trips here as Cooper gets bigger!!

6 months and counting!

Cooper is officially 6 months old! He is eating solid foods, bulldozing his head across the floor, talking non-stop, smiling, and giggling all the time. He is a precious little baby and we couldn't be more blessed! School is almost over which means Daddy and Cooper will have lots of father/son time! I know they both can't wait! We will be doing alot of traveling in the next 6 months (a trip to Rochester in July, Ohio in October, and somewhere north for Christmas! We are hopeful that Cooper likes airplanes! Well, that's all for now. Below is a picture from Cooper's first 6 months so you can see how much he has changed! I may be bias but I think he is a cutie!!

Sleeping in the backpacker! My new present! I was quite a fan of being as tall as Daddy!

I take big boy baths now!! And I like them!! It's a good thing because now that we have started solid food he needs a bath just about everyday!

Daddy stayed home with me on my 6th month birthday!!!

And for those of you who think Cooper never cries...I give a temper tantrum!

New Tricks and a Temper Tantrum

Cooper had quite a big weekend. Last week we gave him his first "baby mush." It was green peas and he loved them!! He gobbled them up and was grunting for more. This weekend we decided to add green beans since he did so well with the peas! Friday night he got his first taste and did pretty good. He wasn't as excited about the beans as the peas but he ate them with no complaint! The world of solid foods has begun!

Yesterday we visited with Danny's parents on Skype. It has been several weeks since our last encounter so it was great to see and talk with them. The last time we talked to them on Skype, Cooper worked very hard the entire time trying to make that first move from back to tummy all by himself. He jerked and jerked and finally right before the end of the conversation he did! He flipped over and was so happy! Pretty much from that day forward we have spent very little time on our back! He loves his tummy and can pretty much go where ever he wants now. Anyways, back to yesterday's conversation. Cooper has been working on sitting up for about 2 weeks now. His max time was about 30 seconds to a minute before he would lean and tumble to the ground. We sat him in front of the computer to talk to his Grandma and Grandpa and he sat up without assistance for at least 20 minutes! He didn't tumble, topple, or require a save from us at all! Since yesterday morning he has been sitting up and playing with all sorts of new toys! He has even caught himself multiple times from hitting the floor and pushed himself right back up! He is such a big boy!!

Now for the funny story! Now that Cooper is eating solids we are making it a point to have dinner together every night. Cooper sits in his booster chair and eat ceral and veggies while we eat our dinner! He loves to be in his chair and will usually sit there and play while we clean up the dishes. Tonight we sat down for dinner and he had his eye on Danny's cup. He was in deep thought about this neon colored cup adn you could see the wheels turning...he wanted that cup! Danny noticed he fascination so he decided to get him a sippy cup to play with. Danny put a little water in it and handed it over! Cooper was thrilled and played with it for a few minutes. When I finished dinner I brought all the food over and told Danny to take away the cup so we could eat (plus he was getting water EVERYWHERE)! Danny took the cup away and Cooper screamed!! He slammed his hand on his tray a let us have it! He was having his first little temper tantrum! His face was beat red and he had tears and snot runny down his poor little face. Danny and I were a little bit stunned! We tried to calm him down but Danny ended up having to get him out of the chair and calm him down. Luckily, he did fine once we put him back in the chair and there were no more fits! It was HILARIOUS, but we tried really hard not to laugh. So that was our fun weekend! Green beans, sitting up, and a temper tantrum!! Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the temper tantrum but here are some more recent photos!

Aren't I cute...
